Whitehall News

This time of the year makes my days go by much faster than they should. I had a friend call the other day to see when she could make an appointment with me to talk about a few things. Yes, I had to check the calendar.

With a donated tree, new ornaments gifted to the Auxiliary, items from my stash, extra items from Maxine and Janis and snap, we have an elegant Christmas tree at the Veterans of Foreign Wars. It was good to see a tree in the lounge and have customers smile as they pass by.

We also placed a large box for toys for needy Grimes County children. If you can donate a small item that would be awesome. I know it is difficult at this time of the year, but every little bit helps. There is also a basket for gently used blankets and food for the community. Thank you in advance.

After seven trees and wreaths on most of the doors, this person is tired! This may not happen again next year. I say that now!

Don’t forget the Christmas celebrations in Navasota Saturday, Dec. 14, and the parade that follows in the evening. Whitehall will have an entry this year. Consider coming to represent our community.

Please keep the family of Rickey Binford in your prayers. His family extends throughout the county to include places such as the auction barn and TEAM Ford. His smile and jokester personality will be missed.
