Civic Club meets Thursday

Upcoming events in the community include the first meeting of the Keith Civic Club which will meet at the Keith Community Center Thursday, Jan. 23. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by their business meeting. This will be their first meeting of the year and yearly dues will be due. They are $15 per membership or $25 per couple. Do make plans to come out and meet your friends, neighbors and family members. Hope to see you there.

A very special birthday celebration for Rev. Herbert Richards was held at the Steep Hollow Community Center Saturday, Jan. 11, with family members and friends present. He will turn 100 years old and is in wonderful shape. Both of his children were present. The children are Rev. Eugene Richards and wife Ruth and Marilu Richards McDonald. Also, many grandchildren and other family members and friends attended. He was the pastor of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church two different times. May God bless him and grant him many more years.

The monthly meeting of the Iola-North Zulch No. 458 will meet at the Pyramid Masonic Lodge No. 593 in North Zulch Monday, Jan. 27. The meeting will begin with a covered dish meal at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by their business meeting. All members of the Eastern Star are invited to attend.
