Don and I took a one-day spur of the moment trip Saturday, Jan. 1 to visit former Anderson residents Pastor Kermit and Mary Bostelman. Kermit was pastor of Zion Lutheran here and took a job in DeRidder, Louisiana where he serves two parishes. At one time Mary was my city secretary while I was Mayor of our town. The two of us were spotted 3-4 mornings a week as we walked around the A/S Elementary school from 5-6 a.m. I sure do miss our early morning walks! Anyway, we had a very nice visit. They took us around the town and showed us their two parishes and we had lunch. Fort Polk Army base is nearby so we took a tour and also walked through the PX there.
