The Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors celebrated the Navasota Public Library, and their efforts to provide community programs that are both educational and engaging, by awarding the team with Business of the Quarter – Q1 of 2024. The team is led by Librarian Tiffany Byers, who for the last 3 years has been responsible for upgrades, changes and new programs for Grimes County.

Anderson-Shiro senior, Kevin Cabrera (center), became registered voter 20,000 in Grimes County. Grimes County Judge Joe Fauth III and Grimes County Elections Administrator, Rachel Walker commemorated the historic number Jan. 18, by giving Cabrera a Grimes County coin. Cabrera said voting to him is, “putting your vote out there puts your voice out there.”

Grimes County Crime Stoppers issued three prominent awards at their annual awards banquet Jan. 20, at the KC Hall in Anderson. Grimes County K-9 Officer, Zackry Pavloc, earned Officer of the Year. Former Grimes County Diversion Crew Deputy, Glen Love, was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award and Blane Hechler received the Meritorious Award. Presenting the awrds is Crime Stoppers President Debbie Grimes.
