At the April 8 Regular Meeting of the Navasota City Council, council members approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 1043-24, amending Chapter 3, Building Regulations, related to electrical receptacles on island countertops. The change will allow electricians the option of choosing between the 2020 or the 2023 National Electric Code (NEC) to install or not install electrical outlets/ receptables on new island or peninsula countertops.
