The Navasota Planning and Zoning Commission and Navasota City Council held a joint workshop June 13 to discuss a proposed townhome development on the city’s west side. In 2023, Grimes County listed approximately 7 acres for sale out of the 14.985-acre tract it owns at 203 Veterans Memorial Drive, behind the Grimes County Annex and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office. According to City Manager Jason Weeks, the joint workshop will give the developer an idea of requirements and obstacles the group perceives that he needs to address in order for him to decide if he’ll move forward with the project.
