Read moreA few months ago, Marilyn Bettes saw a picture of the Plantersville High School, a two-story red brick building built in 1912 which was long ago torn down. The last class to graduate from there was in 1942. Bettes is an inquisitive retired educator. Immediately, she started asking questions about the school and was told the foundation of the old building was located in a pasture behind Plantersville Town Hall. With the owner’s permission, Bettes walked on top of the old foundation and decided right then and there, something should be done to preserve the memory of the high school many do not even know existed.
