Read moreAfter a public hearing with no comments against, the Navasota City Council approved the first reading of Ordinance 990-22 authorizing the city to participate in the Texas Enterprise Zone Program. At the public hearing and Special Meeting Monday, Jan. 18, council members approved the nomination of Champion Home Builders, Inc. located at 9601 Industrial Drive, as an Enterprise Project to the Office of the Governor Economic Development & Tourism through the Economic Development Bank. If approved on the State level, Champion could receive a refund of all, or a portion of the maximum allowed of the 6.25% state sales tax its pays for items purchased for its business.
