A large group of well-wishers attended the recent Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting for the new 'Rainbow Room' located at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Navasota. Organizers spoke of the importance of having this resource locally, which provides items to CPS workers to aid children and families during times of crisis. The Rainbow Room is stocked with new items including clothes, baby formula, diapers and a host of other supplies that are offered free of charge to children who have experienced a traumatic transition.

ANDERSON - Come learn about the historic Fanthorp Family Cemetery in Anderson as part of Fanthorp Inn’s Focus Weekend. Fanthorp Inn’s Focus Weekend is set for Saturday and Sunday Sept. 10-11 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The focus this month will be on the Fanthorp Family Cemetery. For over 180 years the Fanthorp Family Cemetery has served as the final resting place for Fanthorp family members and some of the most notable figures in Texas History. On this weekend, proper cemetery care will be demonstrated and the lives of those interred there will be explored. The Inn is located at 579 S. Main St. in Anderson.
