Evergreen Baptist Church celebrated Palm Sunday Apr. 10, with a good number of members and visitors attending. The morning worship service was enjoyed by all. Following the service there was an Easter Egg hunt for the children and a covered dish meal with great food and desserts.

I want to thank all the people in communities for collecting plastic caps for the VFW Auxiliary. We delivered the caps up to the March 31 deadline. I appreciate those who support the efforts of District 19. We are 17th in making benches for homeless veterans. Once I learn final results, I will let you know.

Young Otto Koeltzow writes that “our harvest at Anderson was good—nine bales of cotton and fine corn. Older brother Paul was old enough to plow, and so father bought a second yoke of oxen for $50 and rented more land. This required us to move farther from town. It was a four mile walk to school in good and bad weather, but we didn’t mind for there were several school boys along the road and we had good times together.

The monthly meeting of the Keith Civic Club was held at the Keith Community Center Thursday, March 24, with a fair crowd attending and two visitors. The covered dish meal was enjoyed by all. During the business meeting it was announced there will be a bake sale Saturday, Apr. 16, with the location being announced later. This will be the first bake sale in two years due to Coronavirus. The money will be used for club insurance and other expenses.
