There was a full crowd at the home of Jim and Terri Kildare Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, as a ramp was being built for their new home. The ramp is finished and really looks good. Thanks to all that assisted with labor, meals, and materials. Terri was due to return home March 13 from rehab. I am sure she will be happy to be home, and we will be glad to have her back at Evergreen Baptist Church as well.

Look at what God is doing in the Blackberry community. We finally got our roads paved. We have paved roads and eventually the whole community will be paved. Thanks to Harry Walker and Pct. 2 administration (Bobbie and Patty) for working with me on the grant.

Cecil E. Burney, a descendant of earliest Grimes County settler Francis Holland, and a student at Stephen F. Austin State University, wrote a “scholar works” entitled, “Home of Heroes: The Story of the Holland House.” It was published Oct. 1971 East Texas Historical Journal.

The monthly meeting of Keith Civic club was held Thursday, Feb. 24, at Keith Community Center with a small number attending. Several missed for various reasons. All present enjoyed a time of fellowship over the covered dish meal. There was a variety of business discussed and acted upon. Hopefully the weather will be better next month. Make plans to attend.
