BELLVILLE – Navasota’s Kylie Maxson is leaving her mark in history becoming the first Lady Rattler tennis player to advance to Regionals.
The Rattlers competed in the district tournament at Bellville High School March 29-30. Maxson, in her senior season, earned a bye in the opening round. She breezed past Wharton’s No. 2 player in the quarterfinals, 6-0, 6-1. In the semifinals she defeated Bellville’s No. 2 player and cruised to another 6-0, 6-1, win.

Read moreWALLER – It was a great night for the Navasota Rattlers at they clinched a 4A Bi-District Championship blanking the Houston Washington Eagles, 8-0, at Waller High School March 24.
The Rattlers (16-4-2), and District 25-4A champions, faced the Livingston Lions, third place from District 18-4A March 27 in Madisonville (results were not available at press time). Livingston beat Little Cypress-Mauriceville 2-1 in the Bi-District round. The winner will face the Houston Furr vs East Chambers winner.

Jami Palafox rejected nine attempts on goal to help secure the win. Mayra Castillo scored twice, and Jocelyn Santoy had a goal and an assist. Stephanie Padron and Mariah Guevara each had an assist. Leeyah Abercrumbia had two saves.

Navasota also had several players advance to the consolation finals including: Boys Singles, Francisco Herrera; Mixed Doubles, Avery Seale and John Torres; Girls Doubles, Ashley Santos and Yamilete Zarate.
