Read moreBrenda Storey and I helped for a few hours at the Progressive Center on the rainy Saturday we had last weekend. A group of people from Navasota City Mission organize, prepare, bake and donate a Thanksgiving meal each year. Anyone can come in and get two plates of food to either eat at the center or elsewhere. I am not for sure the exact amount of plates that were made, but it was well over 700.
Read moreEvergreen Baptist Church celebrated Thanksgiving at the church Sunday, Nov. 20. Guest speaker was Brother Mike Satterfield. He has a tremendous passion for God’s people, and a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry. His message was enjoyed by all present. Approximately 97 attended the service including several visitors. Following the service, a meal was served in the fellowship hall.

Read moreArea family members of Henry Davis were sorry to learn of his death Wednesday, Nov. 9. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Ft. Worth. There was not a funeral service. He is survived by two sons, Henry and Michael, along with other family members. Do remember them all in your prayers. He was the son of the late Joe and Lena Davis.
